Down East Idol March 13
Fundraiser for MAMA Scholarship Program
The 2nd Annual DownEast Idol is coming! Be sure and mark your calendar for Saturday March 13th at the Narraguagus High School starting at 6:00pm (an hour earlier than previously announced.) There will be 2 categories: 12 and under plus 13 and up. Prizes for both groups will be $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd place.
This year Friendly Productions, a production company out of Clifton Maine, will be producing the show as well as producing a documentary DVD for sale of the event. William Jenner has been the Technical director for Billy Joel, Lionel Richie, Bon Jovi and many other musicians when they preformed in Boston. He has also done work for the New England Patriot's and sound work for Fenway Park. William moved to Maine a few years ago and started his own company.
Our judges this year are: Bill Butler--music producer and overnight DJ for WNSX of Ellsworth, Mike McSorley--owner of WRMO Radio Station in Steuben, and Eugene Nichols--Music Director University of Maine at Machias.
Brian Flaherty is going to be our MC again this year. Brian works for WERU Community Radio in Orland as a programmer.
You don't want to miss the fun evening that supports the Milbridge Area Merchant's Association scholarship fund. This fund provides a scholarship to a deserving senior from both Narraguagus and Sumner High Schools going on for higher education.

Cost is $5.00 a person or $20 a family of 5 or more.
